The first ref nearly gave him the relief and was moving in that direction. Agreed with the senior ref in the end.

Absolutely! Play it as it lies!Amazing to me that American referees were used on a links course and he didn’t know the terminology of a reverted face!
Having played links golf in Southport at Hesketh GC, we were always told and led to believe that the revetted face was not part of the bunker!

I just wish someone had mentioned the “10 second” rule.
“Hang on Larry, I think that ball is still moving! Can he hit a moving ball…?”
