Ohioan here. I should hope that the people who produced this video know that the Serpent Mound is far older than the Fort Ancient tribes of 1000 years ago. Local history as well as a growing number of archeologists around the world speculate that it's dated to at least the 3rd century BC and possibly older. There's been evidence of rebuilding, so it's entirely possible the Fort Ancient people did some work. But it should also be noted that immediately over the cliff from the head of the serpent there is also a rock jutting out from the cliffside that eerily resembles that of a snake. It coincidentally lines up with the solstice and is a little more difficult for the human species top manipulate. It's thought the serpent mound was built because of that cliff rock, and the alignment opens up more questions. All this is to say, there's a lot more going on than what is presented in this video.

I would just like to know what they did with the original artifacts that were in the serpent mound. And the smaller rocks that were on top to make it look like the skin of a serpent!

Has any one trued Digging down to reveal what is Under the Serpent? We should not just assume the structure is part of the land it is shaped on.

Actually the U shape is common throughout Ohio in complex earthworks. Portsmouth, Ohio has one U shaped mound left. I doubt very much that the one at Serpent Mound is a mistake or that it was suppose to be a coil. It was put there on purpose as part of the complex.

one has to reconsider, that the earth axis placement was a little different a few thousand years ago.

more than likely when they recreated the mound they didn't see that part and left it out. Serpent mound was farmland for many years ...

So what is the meaning of the "serpent"? Why choose this particular shape for a simple pointer?

<O>
Apep is a giant snake from the Void that has always existed and will always exist.

Apep's goal is to return the world to the state it was in before the coming of Atum and especially of the creator god Ra.

To this end, every night when Ra enters the underworld where the dwelling of Apep is located, Apep tries to eat Ra and the Sun that he carries on his head. However, because Ra is defended by other gods (notably, the chaos god Set and the cat goddess Bastet), Apep never achieves his goal.

Counterintuitively, according to Egyptian myths, it is Apep who causes eclipses.

Indeed, during those, Apep succeeds in swallowing Ra by surprising him in the middle of the day and swallowing him. Nevertheless, eclipses never last long because Set and Bastet always help Ra by opening the stomach of Apep, which allows the Sun to illuminate the Earth again.
