REVISITED: Katherine Magbanua Verdict - 5/2022

The Murder:
Dan Markel was a dad and FSU law professor who was executed in his garage on July 18, 2014, in Tallahassee, Florida. In 2016, three people were arrested Luis "Tato" Rivera, Sigfredo "Tuto" Garcia, and Katherine Magbanua. Rivera took a plea and implicated Garcia and Magbanua, who both went to trial and are serving life without parole.

The Adelson Family:
Charlie Adelson, Dan Markel's ex-brother-in-law, has been charged with Dan's murder and is awaiting trial. Wendi Adelson, Dan's ex-wife, and her mother, Donna Adelson, have been named co-conspirators in court documents and by Georgia Cappleman in open court (Charlie's bond hearing).

Wendi Adelson testified at Magbanua's trial in May 2022 that she has NOT discussed her ex-husband's murder with her brother Charlie or her parents, nor does she watch, read or listen to ANY media related to the murder of her son's loving father.

All Adelsons maintain their innocence as a family unit.

The Intrigue (Mass Public Interest):
The murder has inspired a #1 rated NYT podcast, TALLY, from Wonderly's OVER MY DEAD BODY series. This heinous murder is the subject of numerous primetime specials such as Dateline, 20/20, People Magazine Investigates, That Chapter, and True Crime Daily. The best part of this clip, which wasn’t shown here, was seeing Ruth Markel’s reaction. How bittersweet this moment must have been for her. I was cheering for her. I dream of the day where Ruth will get to see Wendi getting her life sentence, while being reunited with her grandchildren.

It took a staggering level of stupidity for Katie to risk taking this case to trial, when she had an option to work out a deal (for a lighter sentence or time served) and tell the truth. Katie's attorneys let her down big time. She was so naive to think that she would be found not guilty, considering the massive amount of evidence. The Dolce Vita video alone was indefensible, and yet they still took it to trial. I wonder if Charlie will be as foolish as Katie. If he does, then it's a guaranteed guilty verdict. At the end of the day Wendi is the person with all the motive to get this done, and Dan's murder would never have happened without her blessing and approval. I wonder when the next arrest(s) will occur. As for Charlie, he is done for, unless he works out a deal and tells the truth about his family's involvement, especially Wendi, who we all know was the mastermind at the center of the web.

oops Katie, maybe shoulda made a deal with Georgia BEFORE going to trial, eh? Watching the attorneys, they were positive they had convinced or emotionally appealed to at minimum 1 juror. They were banking on another hung jury, with prosecution then dropping case and no retrial. They are gobsmacked, dumbfounded. They knew acquittal was impossible but not a hung jury. They look like they are thinking :oh crap, our benefactors, the Adelsons are going to be PISSED we botched this, cuz now, Charlie is going down. I wouldn’t be surprised if the A family promised each atty a bonus, if Katie walked. Omg, the air horn and sound effects, are PERFECTION. Humor and true crime, just what I want to watch on you tube.
