When a human delegation arrives at an interstellar summit with two infamous Vzorix "pets" in tow, the aliens are shocked and terrified at these deadly creatures now acting tame and affectionate. As the summit continues, the Vzorix remain protective and devoted to their human masters, leading to chaos when the aliens finally push them too far.

All of my stories are original.

"Can I pet that dawg?!" Is one of humanities greatest powers.

Once we were wolves, wild, fierce and wary.
Then we noticed you had couches...

I want an emotional support Vzorix. Also, so the Kroxim now understand what it's like to have a cat. "You are my pet!" "Sure, slave. Whatever you say."

It takes a Deathworlder to understand a Deathworlder, and our species has the bizarre instinct to pack-bond with damn near everything. We will call _ANTHING_ family if it lets us, and sometimes even if they refuse to. We desire to hug the danger-floofs and boop the snoots, even if they can disembowel us. Often more so if they can.

Humanity in a nutshell…don’t matter if it’s a fearsome predator, at least one of us will want to pet it. That’s a fearsome Zardokian panther. Nope, that’s my kitty cat and he’s called Mr. fluffy Butt

When I was a kid, my neighbor had a Doberman Rottweiler mix that everyone was afraid of. I lost my frisbee in their back yard once and slowly fed the dog a pound of baloney one slice at a time while I got into the yard the retrieve my frisbee. after that the dog was my best friend. Always coming to the gate to get pets and wagging his tail so hard the whole back half of his body would wag.

Aliens: How did you domesticate those?!
Humans: we booped their snoots
Aliens: Booped their what??

The one thing missing is that all those pets “followed them home”. Totally not the humans fault. You just can’t leave them alone fending for themselves. 😅

All the comments talking about how we tame animals by petting reminds me of how I, as a young boy, tamed a wild catfish that lived in a lake at my grandparents' farm via the same method. My great grandparents (Grandfather's parents) taught me fishing, and caught catfish regularly, but one particular catfish caught my eye, he was way bigger than the rest and had a white spot on the top of his head, and I would pet him as he swam by the boat. After a few years of this, the special boi learned that I was a friend and he would raise his head out of the water sometimes for whole minutes just so I could pet his head. He loved it. My great grandparents were dumbfounded, and if my whole family hadn't seen the interactions unfold, to this day none of them would've believed it, in their own words.

Dogs descended from wolves, house cats descended from bigger cats. outside of the grazers, all the animals we “tame” are not exactly “safe”. We still do it though

The explanation for this one is simple: Humans are hunters and pack-animals, it takes one to know one!

You know.... this makes sense.

Other life forms out there could easily kill an unarmed but.... we also have that uncanny ability and urge to want to pet and look after other creatures. Like I don't like human-human contact because it makes me uncomfortable af, but I will pet all the animals providing it's (mostly) safe to do so. It also kinda blows my mind every time I see how many animals actually enjoy contact and interaction with humans.

Ignoring the smaller percentage of the population that think causing pain to animals is fun.
