It took me 1 day to order. I went with a defensive cane in straight hickory and dark brown tung oil and a hickory dojo; all are 10% off and free shipping. Then they offered a 2nd dojo for 15% off. I figured that I would travel with a $55 dojo, and if TSA takes it-- I am out $55! Wanted the palm swell, but it almost doubled the cost. Also, wished I had added a shepherd's crook. Would have been fun on hikes. Maybe when I order that palm swell cane.

Good video, Matt. I have a dojo cane in 1" hicokory. It is every bit as tough as advertised, even hitting cinder blocks and cement pavers with only cosmetic damage. The 2nd cane I bought, a cheap Carex cane off Amazon, broke while hitting tires. The hickory cane is lighter and more responsive than my edc nylon cane. I carry the nylon cane for extra wallop.

I have two Cane Masters canes. I use one primarily for training. That one doesn't have the chisel tip on the horn, so I feel better using it on my heavy bag. The smoother tip won't cut my bag. The other one is more of a practical cane. I also lucked into a hickory cane on Ebay. I've never seen those again. This one was supposedly made by the Amish and is also a very solid, very nice cane. Someday, I would like to get your dojo cane version. The canes with eyes don't really appeal to me.

I wish that Cane Masters were making 1-1/8" diameter canes as a standard product. I'm a bit overweight and could use the extra strength of a slightly larger cane. I'd still want hickory even with the fatter cane. My Amish cane is either 1-1/8" or 1-1/16". I forget which.

My staffs are inch-and-a-half hickory dowels that I ordered from a place in Ohio. I oiled them as you recommend and use them for walking and spinning.

I made myself a couple Hickory walking sticks a few years back but I don't have the tools to make a good cane so I just ordered a Hickory Dojo & a custom Oak in Crimson 😁 looking forward to getting them.

I have a cane masters cane. I live in Canada. The drug store canes, if you fall on it, it breaks. There is no self-defense laws in Canada .
With the conversion to Canadian dollars was 236.00. To get it in the mail, $306.00. To get it from the post office $40.00. I love my sylish cane

I adore my CM canes, an octagon one for training & a custom one for carrying, it's so nice I hate to use it ( lol ). I am planning on getting another custom CM cane; however, I do not see the horn option that you have ( the outside sharp cut )on their list, is that pedicular horn available to the general public and will it go through TSA when flying?

Did you do anything with your _Cane Masters dojo cane?_ I recently got mine, and the wood finish looks different than yours. Mine just looks like raw wood but I see a bit of a semi-gloss finish on yours. I guess if the idea is to build up _callouses_ on your hand, then the rougher finish might be good …

I ordered a Pure Hickory self defense cane 2 days ago because I make bank runs a couple times a week. Not being able to bring my pew pew makes me feel vulnerable. I went with the tongue oil only for the pure hickory. Didn’t want to put stain color on a beautiful wood finish.
