Here's Toy Man Television's Tutorial:

In this tutorial, I show you a few, quick and easy techniques for creating your own rusty corrugated iron sheets for your miniature dioramas! First, I show you how to create the corrugated surface on aluminum foil using a toothpaste squeezer. Then, I show you several different painting methods! I show you how to paint rust and grime using acrylic paints. I also show you how to weather using rusty enamel washes. You can always leave them the bare metal color if you'd prefer that too!

I purchased one of the rollers, but got was disappointed when I struggled to find the aluminium foil you used in the video(it’s hard to get in the uk) until…. I thought “wait a second… coke cans are pretty much the same gauge… Iv just tried it and it’s turned out perfect!!! Hopefully this comment can help someone!

Anyone else think he was going to manually fold each crease? lol These look awesome! Great work! I might have to pick up a toothpaste tube squeezer now.

Trashbags and weathered corrugated metal makes me want to see an dingy alley in a city! With chainlink fences and bums sleeping.

I got me one of them toothpaste squeezers from Amazon (only $9.99) and save every beer can (after I drink it), cut it up with my tin snips and run it through the squeezer. I've now got more O scale corrugated metal than I know what do with. I guess all my scratch built buildings will now have corrugated siding and corrugated roofs, LOL! Just wish they made a smaller one for HO scale. The aluminum from the beer cans or soda cans is thick enough to hold the crimping without flattening. Just have to get the curl out of it which is pretty easily done. Cheers from eastern TN

Great video and using the roller looks like it makes the job easier. Had to chuckle though. I worked at a sheet metal shop many years ago and we used a roller to make the heals and throats for the elbows (duct work). The roller here is quite similar to the one used at the shop with the only difference being the size and the rolling surface being smooth instead of corrugated.

Toothpaste? What do you think we are, royalty? Geeesh! I hope I can transfer some of these techniques to resin. I purchased several Shanty Town buildings from Miniature Building Authority. There are houses/roofs/walls made of all sorts of materials, as you would see in a real favela. Thanks for the great video!

You can also use a Fiskars paper crimper. It does have metal rollers so it will crimp thinner metal. There are other paper crimpers available for a lot less ($9 versus $20.) but they have plastic rollers. They still may crimp thinner metal but it may dent the plastic rollers over time.
