Use of "onto"
1)Something is in movement and get placed on a surface
2) when you are fully aware of something (try to replace onto with fully aware )
Use of "upon"
1) immediately after doing something or something happen
2)event almost about to happen
3)use for formal usage in place of on
4) giving importance to one noun to another
5) in movement
