Animal rights activists blockade McDonald's distribution centres across UK

Animal rights protesters have set up blockades at four McDonald’s distribution centres across Britain, which they say will affect about 1,300 restaurants. Activists from Animal Rebellion used trucks and bamboo structures to blockade distribution sites at Hemel Hempstead, Basingstoke, Coventry and Heywood from about 4.30am on Saturday, the group said. The group wants McDonald’s to commit to becoming fully plant-based by 2025

"Don't eat meat" or "don't serve meat" won't work and it's impossible to convert to plant based meat in such a short timespan as well.

What would work and that we should fight for is to improve the horrid realities of factory farming. We need to change the way those animals are treated. We need to take small steps.

I’m sat eating on my break at McDonalds and the only thing they have stopped us getting is lettuce and cucumber, they are demanding only plant based but your stopping the plants we do have from coming in, nice job 😂

Mc Donald sells mass amounts of meat products BECAUSE there is a need in the market for it. People like eating meat. And will continue to eat meat. Whether or not Mc Donald’s moves to fully plant based of not, there will still be a desire for meat products.
