Quick little correction: Telemark is not in northern Norway, it's in the southeast.

Hey Rick, great video. I really enjoyed this Folk Museum during my stay in Oslo 2011.
Is there a reason why you never go further north in Scandinavia? Places like the island group of the Lofoten and the Nordkap are worth a visit as well as cities like Trondheim and Tromsø.

I'm shocked that the stave church is from over 500 hundred years ago. Norway must have low humidity, because in Michigan where I'm from, wood wouldn't last 50 years, even if protected under an eaves. Wood kept indoors in a dry environment would last many years of course, but the church is exposed to the elements. The wood carvings at the entrance are exposed to humidity and cycling of temperatures, but still are beautiful after over 500 years. I'm very surprised at this. I thought that only wood that is left from ancient times is the wood from the Egyptian tombs that was in an absolutely dry environment.
