You are 100% right to be doing this. I bought an RS last week, 20 years after buying my first.

Just as I noticed during disassembly of your footrests the chain roller on the brake side is buggered and the exhaust rubber hanger on the left hand side. But nice to see someone trying to do it properly

Nice! Have you noticed that air intake rubber twin pipe has smaller ports at round shape heads and bigger at other side ports. I tried both ways and I considered the round shape pipes in the airbox, while bigger will stay outside. Reason for the decision is that it actually was somehow better while bigger ports were at outside. I figured out that if the flowth will accelerate in smaller round shape tubes and even produce somekind of small hurricane, it's just better like that. I even tried to inhale trough the both sides and I found it easier to breath while I inhaled trought the round shape. So it's somekind of funnel or even diode -shape. I would say bigger ports does collect air better, so maybe you would like to try it so also, thanks!

Why not just slightly crimp that stretched spade connector for the water temp sensor? Best to avoid cutting the loom if you can bud.

The gear lever has another pin that secures it to avoid it accidently being removed. The securing pins not listed as a separate part and barely appears on the part schematics, with the way everything wears on these bikes your probably best ordering a new ball joint.

Big problem with adjusting the lever pin so it is too deep is that it slightly preloads the piston, but by doing so blocks the hole from the reservoir into the master cylinder. So as you use the brakes and the pads wear, fluid can’t get into the system to take up the volume. So you soon land up with no brakes.

i couldnt understand why the temp sensor was going all over the place on mine a while ago, and i found that i had the same problem on the temp sensor as you, seems like its not as odd as i thought
