i honestly don't get how people can ship jeremiah with her over conrad. like jere is precious as a character but it's clear they have more of a best friend chemistry and he only seemed to notice her AFTER she's gotten "pretty", conrad paid her attention long before then.

It's always been Conrad. Jeremiah dated her because if she got over Conrad she could possibly be with him but belly's not in love with Jeremiah, Jeremiah is not in love with belly no matter what's being said or what's being done in the moment. He's always had a crush on her but at the same time he also wants what his brother has and wants. That is not love. Conrad however has shown numerous times in small ways and he always has been in love with her. The differences Jeremiah is very outgoing where is Conrad is not. Jeremiah is still immature Conrad is not. Conrad never played on belly's feelings but he pushed her away because he doesn't want to hurt her as he internalizes a lot of his struggles whereas Jeremiah does not. Conrad however later learns that he can balance both (have a relationship and balances emotions) It has not been brought up in the show yet but Jeremiah cheats on belly if he loved her he never would have. When Conrad and her have that conversation you can tell she hasn't forgiven him she's moved past it but she's not over it. That whole conversation she's convincing herself that she can live with that knowing that she can't and Conrad knows it too. There's a difference between being in love and loving/ crushing on someone. And later on as well she travelled to Spain to study abroad it was Conrad who wrote to her once a month whether she wrote back or not Jeremiah. Which shows that even though they had "a falling out" he still cared about her and how she was.

Conrad all the way! From the show you can tell Jer is willing to play a little dirty to get Belly on his side. Like, when he talks to those girls to get them to invite Conrad to the music festival. I think that's a little foreshadowing of course how he won't be the best choice.
