The green thing with the bubble in it is called a level. They're used a lot for paintings so it's perfectly horizontal, but you can use it here to make sure your phone is aligned so your picture won't be taken at an angle.

As a frequent solo female traveler, I have added to my safety items a small carbon monoxide detector/alarm. There have been recent reports of deaths of travelers due to this sneaky killer so taking this devise with me helps me sleep better. I pack it in my checked bag, batteries in my carry on, and put it together once I get to my room. Travel on

Thank you for this video. I ordered mace from Amazon. 😂 and I have a regular doorstop, but I will be taking your other tips. Its so funny I was also looking at those same 2 tripods, and I didn't order them, but I will now. I also ordered portable clickers so that If I don't use the timer on the phone, I can use the clicker. Do you also use a camera as well as a phone? I'm so excited. 7 weeks before my big first solo trip.
