Sweet little Truck. Impressive. Had a friend that had a k car. Spent a lot of time riding back and forth from Sioux Falls to Vermillion in it.

The 2 barrel 225 was an option on the slant six trucks through the 1983 model year. My 1982 D150 Custon is an original 2 barrel. Has a W in the VIN. The option was dropped for cars much earlier, maybe 1980. You have the factory paperwork showing that yours was originally a one barrel. Noticed your truck has a V8 radiator in it. The slant radiator would have inlet and outlet on the same side. It works. Couldn't really see it too well, but if the engine is a black paint engine, then it's an '84 to '87 Toluca, Mexico engine. Up through '83 was blue. Mine has a black paint engine also, probably a warranty replacement? No VIN stamped on the block VIN pad. Beautiful D150, inside and out! 8 times nicer than mine. 19 mpg is the best I ever got with mine on one of its few highway trips. 14-16 in local driving with the 4 speed OD.

That's good mileage for a full size truck. That's about what I get with the 5.9 Diesel

especially with all that stop and go traffic, 19 is great. my 79 ford with a 302/c6 did 13 JUST on the highway, so youre doubling it
