Shalmali Guttal, Executive Director at Focus on the Global South and member of the Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples' Mechanism (CSM) in the Committee for World Food Security (CFS), deconstructs the entire corporate ecosystem of the UNFSS.

Guttal lists the key organisations and corporate partners including the big philanthropic and their funded scientific bodies that are part of the UNFSS. These pro corporate organisations have been trying to drive their own agenda through the process of multistakeholderism. Guttal argues that corporate capture of food systems means diversion of public funds from small food producers and public distribution systems.

Guttal was speaking at the India Counter Dialogue on UNFSS, co-organised by Jan Sarokar and Focus on the Global South, on 3-4 September, 2021
