Norman Elliot is interviewed by Mike Dunham and Bob Curtis-Johnson in Anchorage, Alaska on June 4, 2013, as part of the Rasmuson Foundation Early Anchorage Oral History Project. This is one of 10 project interviews.

Norman Elliot talks about his personal background, leaving England in 1923 and being raised in Detroit, serving in the army, finishing school and attending seminary, coming to Alaska in 1951, serving in the European Theater during WWII, deciding to become a minister, how he came to Alaska in 1951, being interviewed by Bishop William Gordon, Nenana, Fort Yukon, learning to fly at Merrill Field, marrying Stella Burton in 1957, learning to fly, what Eagle was like when he arrived in 1953, different responsibilities in Eagle, flying out to other villages, moving to Eagle Village in 1958, teaching at the school, working in Ketchikan, moving to Anchorage in 1962, what Anchorage was like at that time, increase in the population of Anchorage after the earthquake, shopping, how Anchorage has changed since he arrived, performing church service when the earthquake took place and damage to his church, his military service, serving Fort Richardson and the start of St. Christopher's Church, his family, Pamela McKinney, Laura Bender, Sidney Elliot, raising children in Anchorage, eating game in Eagle, when he quit flying, taking the Grumman Goose in Ketchikan, flooding on the Yukon, the Air Force bombing ice jams, Reese Syler, mosquitoes on the Yukon Flats, crash landing on the tundra between Venetie and Fort Yukon and his rescue, and the size of Anchorage in 1951.
