J.K. Rowling has come forward to express her excitement in having Johnny Depp on board to star as Grindelwald in Warner Bros.' Fantastic Beasts film series, saying it's a "privilege" to be working with the actor.

The movie was incredible, 10/10 for me.

I was excited when I heard this announcement. Johnny Depp has done some good movies and if you want him to be scary, he can be scary. I saw the movie and I was actually scared before I saw him, just knowing who his character is. I knew that if Johnny did it well it could be frightening. And, in my opinion, he did not dissapoint. Let's hope the sequels make Grindelwald just as frightening.

I feel so disappointed. Green is the darkest, most evil, powerfull wizard ever, second only to Dumble. A good looking but serious, mathematical, cold hearted man. And instead of that we will get Willy Wonka? Drunk happy go lucky predictable Jack Sparrow?

I certainly hope Deep can prove me wrong because if not... it's going to be physically painful to sit and watch how his mannerisms alone destroy one of the most beloved film franchises in history.

Johnny Depp plays all of his characters nearly the exact same way... So, his portrayal of Grindelwald will bring no surprises.

Johnny Depp's appearance in this movie completely took me out of the movie. I think the costume designers were going for a menacing look for Grinderwald but just ended up with a stupid "Mad Hatter" re-hash. I don't think Depp is a good fit for the role at all.
