My ranking so far is 3 1 2, I love 3rd one so much, I think it has a lot of potential!

My new most hyped S.P. Everything from the Asian inspiration, the world, magic-systems, cultures, themes beeing explored with both characthers, what it seems like a possible "life-swap" trope in some kind of fashion, and all the little cosmere bits works perfectly for me. Current hype ranking:
1: Yumi and the nightmare painter
2: Tress of the emerald sea
3: The frugal wizard's handbook for surviving medieval england 🙃

So far each week I think they have been getting better/I am more excited about them. I know Brandon said SP3 is more what we would expect from a Brandon book and for me I find that to be true. The SP1 I was a little nervous afterwards because of how different it is. SP3 is more what I expected for these when he first announced them.

One of the inspirations he mentioned was “Your name” which is a really good anime movie on Netflix 🥰✨ would recommend

1. Yumi
2. Frugal Wizard
3. Tress

Out of those three only SP3 has me impatient for next years release. The other two I'm okay with waiting. I doubt SP4 may top SP3 for me.

I have been saying for a decade now that physical media buys should always come with their digital versions. Books, movies (DVDs), etc.

In the preview yumi makes a light which is made of two spheres on glowing the other seeming olmost to obsorb light I immediately connected this to the two planets black nightmare planet and ground so hot you have to wear clogs to avoid burning your feet planet am I stretching by thinking the planets have a similar connection perhaps mellowing out if connected like the two light spheres (putting them together is how you turn them off)

I listen to Sanderson read the preview chapters on my second monitor, and for the first two books most of my attention was on my the readings. For the first three chapters of this book, it was really hard to get invested, so my focus kept slipping back to my first monitor. With that said, somewhere in chapter 4 it really caught my attention, and chapter 5 made me stop and just listen from that point on. I'm still more excited for book 2 than the others so far, but this book has edged out my excitement for the first ever so slightly.

There is an element of hard sci-fi here. There are planets in other systems who are known to have no axis to turn on. Thus, they have permanent brightsides and darksides.

There is a LOT going on here. Hoid is almost definitely talking to someone from Scadrial who is very familiar with Roshar (assuming that he's talking to one person). Early on, he uses racial characteristics from Roshar as a point of reference for what the people in his story look like. But later, he calls something "rice, " then says it's not really rice, but that's what you'd probably call it on Scadrial. The description makes it clear that it's really not *that* much like rice, and if you were from Roshar, you'd probably think it's like lavis. Even if you knew about Scadrial, lavis would be the better point of reference for the Roshar native.

That places the telling of this story very far in the future. By contrast, Tress is probably happening a long time in the past because Sanderson said that he tells it within decades of it happening, and the Iriali left Lumar only 300 years before the story happens. As to when the story itself happens, I'm guessing right after Stormlight 5, but we'll see.

This is happening on two different planets. Yumi's planet is the star they see on Painter's planet. The black stuff sounds like midnight essence or aether of night. The spirits are exactly the same as spren, but they're apparently Splinters of Virtuosity. Speaking of spren, it looks like they aren't trapped on Roshar anymore--Design isn't, anyway (and, of course, we already knew that at some point, there'd be a Skybreaker astronaut with a Shardgun on First of the Sun).

I was listening to Brandon’s reading and falling asleep at the same time. What I did catch sounded very scary. Did I get the wrong impression? I don’t want to listen again because tbh I’m a bit freaked out.

I dunno, but somehow this just sounds really cool to me. 💜 (Also, makes me think a lot of EXO's Mama MV. 🤣)

So far my ranking is:
#3
#1
#2
Both of the cosmere projects have seemed amazing so far

Edit: the slow pace of projects 1 and 3 seems to be a problem for some people. Personally i prefer it, i find projects that dump you straight into the action are way harder for me to get into
