Don’t forget to install the new drivers. Otherwise your computer won’t know how to use the new hardware

This video isn’t educational at all and definitely not great advice for ANYONE thinking about getting a new GPU. Saying you don’t have to ground yourself is like saying just leave the safety on your guns off, it’s not necessary. Of course, nobody forces you to do it, but by not doing it, you risk shorting a 200–1200 € component because you were too lazy or uneducated to ground yourself properly. I honestly don’t care if someone on the internet breaks their new GPU because some silly individual said, "Nah, it’s not important to ground yourself". It's fine if you are naive go do it yourself. BUT don't make uneducated videos about this bs, telling people how to do stuff you don’t even understand yourself. If you cared about educating anyone, you would just point those people to big tech YouTubers who are known for their correct and educational videos, and if you cared about educating yourself, you would probably watch one of them yourself. People who don’t know shit might take crappy effortless shorts like this as advice and screw their new components. It’s unbelievably stoopid to avoid doing a simple safety task that doesn't even take 1 minute to complete, while ordering your GPU sure took more time than 1 minute.
Instead of grabbing some silly chopsticks and stabbing them into your PC to grab a screw that fell into it, you could also just use a magnetic screwdriver.
Oh, and next time, try not to drop a fucking screwdriver on your mainboard. It *might* break.
Also, just take a look before working on your PC. If you don't, you’ll make silly mistakes like unscrewing the wrong screw and all the other mistakes I listed.
Your computer doesn’t have a "battery." It's not even similar to a battery. That’s a Power Supply Unit (PSU)
You and/or your boyfriend messed up the planning of the upgrade as well. You don’t just buy a GPU and build it into your system. If he didn’t even check for basic connectors, he probably didn’t even check if your PSU can handle your new GPU. Those are things you always want to do.
1. Check for physical space.
2. Check if you have the needed connectors.
3. Check the compatibility (especially if it comes to Mainboard / CPU / RAM).
4. Check if your PSU can supply enough watts for your new hardware.
Especially steps 1, 2 and 4 are really easy to check, and you should check them before upgrading your GPU. There are some more important things, but I don’t want to write a guide about how to properly upgrade your PC. Instead, just explain why this video is garbage and why you shouldn’t take advice from shady individuals doing low effort TikTok format videos.
You don’t ground yourself on a PC that isn’t plugged in that’s not how it works. Again, educate yourself on how basic electrics work. The case of your unplugged PC is not grounded at all.
It's rather unlikely that a short or a screwdriver falling will cause fatal damage, but it can happen, and it's not worth taking a risk just to save less than 1 minute of your time.
The only thing this video proved is how untrustworthy and uneducated your boyfriend is when it comes to building or upgrading your PC.
But there is one thing I totally agree on. You did indeed learn a lot. A lot of things you should NOT do when upgrading your computer. Also, I’ll nicely ask you to change the title to a more honest and forward title like: "This is how to NOT upgrade your GPU! IT’S EASY if you are properly educated #pcgaming"
Have a nice day.

Idk who needs to hear this but you can not leave your old power cables in when replacing the PSU. As you can see she did not and used the cables that came with the new PSU. Its stupid but apparently you can fry everything if you use the old cables even if its from the same brand.
