Great explanation..and great game…love it! We played with my 7 year old, and no he ain’t no genius. He grasped it very quickly
I Recommend for families and older groups…and as Tom says, it’s not too long

Thanks Tom!

I love this game. Its easy to learn, the end scoring is always surprising (if you are hiding your wins behind the screen so as not to remind others what you have won). Plays great with 2-3-4. Three player probably my favourite. You can play slight variants of deciding to choose your starting 5 tiles or have them be random. There are nice twists of evil strategy and revenge which I really like.

The iOS game for iPad is gorgeously done. Its a great investment to buy and see if you want to pay for the board game version. I did and it convinced me that its a fun, solid game for both families and strategic game players that plays fairly quickly (30 min) so you can enjoy a few different games on game night.

Tom just isn't excited about this because it doesn't have dice. :-) But seriously, its definitely a great game that is easy to teach, fast to learn, tough to master and enjoyable for table banter that comes from the choices made. Highly recommended.

This game is seriously great. It's simple to play, offers tremendous depth of strategy and it does it all in 20-30 minutes. Btw, the original edition is visually beautiful and betterr than the FF remake in every way, imho.

Is zman and fantasy flight games the same company? I'm looking at a copy of samurai in a store and the publisher on the box says zman games instead of fantasy flight

Thanks Tom, I'm going to pick this one up. Looks like my type of game! Also, isn't that rice and not wheat?

It seems pretty cool to me, even if there is not combat whatsoever.

The "Caste" system is alive and well in many countries today, unfortunately. It translates to class system. It invaded England in 1066 (Norman Invasion) and the British have been stuck with it ever since. India has a "Caste" system and many of you may have heard of "Untouchables"? They are the lowest caste in India. In these systems, where you're born is where you stay, no matter how rich or poor you might be. It IS pronounced carst if you're English and perhaps cast if American. Either way is fine. Not how Tom is saying it though. I was exposed to this word in high school history. The British Empire and it's Dominions were on the curriculum. Hope this helps.

Normally I would approve of this one, but no, not this time. Perhaps in the near future, adding to my collection because I need to have it in there, sure. But not now. :D Keep up your amazing work, Tom!
