Hurricane Milton made landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast as a Category 3 storm Wednesday night, bringing with it strong winds, a deadly storm surge and major flooding. At the time it made landfall ,the hurricane had maximum sustained winds of 120 mph.

As Milton neared Florida, debris still lined the roads in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene late last month.

Videos of a roofless Tropicana Field Stadium in St. Petersburg, home of the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team, began circulating online along with video and images of flooded streets and damaged homes.

As of early Thursday morning, over 3 million homes and businesses were left without power. St. Lucie County officials reported that the tornadoes generated by Hurricane Milton before the storm made landfall killed four people.

As the storm moved through the state, Milton downgraded to a Category 1 by Thursday morning.
