Rigging a Quick Release Opti Mainsheet

Blockheads Chapman Petersen and Jack Goggins visited Harken HQ to learn and apply essential rigging upgrades for their Optis. They met-up with local professional rigger Olli Lubker for help.

First on the list was upgrading Jack's Opti mainsheet system. This involved adding what's commonly referred to as a "quick release" mainsheet. There are several different styles of these systems that use different parts and rigging methods. While we totally encourage you to experiment and find even better ways to rig your boat, this setup has proven to be an effective yet simple approach.
