This was honestly a really great concept for an episode and I had a ton of fun, the only issue is that the things that didn't quite work made a big difference to the overall energy. I think thousands of people must have said it by now but the two most contentious choices were definitely 1) not revealing Eric as the Ratfish at the end of the game, so we didn't get to enjoy their reactions, and 2) having him essentially solo decide the winners and losers of the game based purely on vibes. I'd frankly have loved a cast vote for favourite character, we kind of know they would have been genuine about their choices, and Eric could have been a tiebreaker vote if it came down to it. Instead it really highlighted the insular nature of dropout and the way it's sort of made its brand as a 'happy family' with Eric as the 'outsider'. I think that's why a lot of people didn't respond the best to the episode - especially when they didn't already know and love Eric as a personality anyway. That being said, I REALLY enjoyed the episode despite those things, and I'd love it if there was a legally feasible way to spin it off unchanged. 'The Loop (de Loop)'. Idk.

I feel like the audience really missed out by not being able to see the cast's reaction to who the ratfish was. It was still a fantastic couple of episodes but the end felt like it needed that reveal. Hopefully we get to see some of that in the BTS.

I think that in a way, this reveal of who the Ratfish was is even funnier to me, because I have absolutely no clue who this guy is. Sam could have pulled some guy off the street for all I know but I assume he’s some well known celebrity

I don't know who he is, but his role felt very underwhelming/underutilized to me. Still a great finale and a ton of fun, but I felt that his presence added very little for me. The ending also felt very abrupt and I missed the feel-good, celebratory feeling that GC usually ends with.

it’s sad that the sole person who had to dictate the winner had no context for anyone. I think Mike Trapp should’ve been the Ratfish

Gonna join the sentiment in the comments and say this was a bit of a disappointing finale and probably my least favourite of the season. No offense to Eric, I'm sure he's great, but his integration to the game wasn't it. Since I subscribed to Dropout mid-season 4, this is probably Game Changer's only real miss. As a side note, I read the recent interviews with Sam Reich and I believe he said there's only one editor for Game Changer? I feel that should probably be changed. Even if they're perfectly qualified for the job, I do notice continuity errors somewhat regularly in the series and having more of a team could reduce that imo. Plus delaying the finale because it's a lot for one person to edit rather than getting more people onboard just seems unwise and not giving people what they paid for per month. I love Dropout and I hope they take all the feedback they've gotten from this episode constructively. We don't care about celebrity cameos, we wanna see cool and creative game ideas and the cast interacting with one another!

ratfish was honestly a bit disappointing to me. eric's strength is physical comedy and he doesn't really get to do that here. not to mention apparently a large portion of the audience didn't know who he was at all -- i get celebrity cameos, but it felt like this one just didn't quite fit. i don't think it's DO or eric's fault, but i really hope there's a different vibe in next season's finale and they learn from this
