This group formed in 1974 in Rockford Illinois the debut in 1977 sold 150, 000 copies while In Colour and Heaven Tonight failed to crack the top 40. In Japan however all three had gone gold. Buy 1979 the group was headlining arenas and stadiums Dream Police reached #6 in the fall of 1979. I liked the song All Shook Up it was produced by George Martin and went Gold in 1979. I still liked the album Heaven Tonight it sure rocked with the opening track Surrender and songs like California Man and Stiff Competition it was my favourite Cheap Trick album Robin Zander could sure sing and Tom Peterson Rick Neilsen with Drummer Bun E. Carlos one of the great rock groups of the late 70's I like the songs Surrender and California Man Heaven Tonight was my favourite album.

So damned glad I was in jr high/high school when Cheap Trick hit it big. What an awesome power pop band.

Great song originally by The Move, which was sort of a predecessor to ELO. The original is more 50s-ish, Jerry Lee Lewis / Little Richard kind of sound, and also reminds me of The Muppets.

Rick Nielsen is somethin''. He drives around in a smart car in the midwest. He is the opposite of the California rockstar.
