Interesting how they talk about oppressing indigenous communities, but they’ve been deafeningly silent about the First Nation Mohawk elderly woman being trampled by a horse. All for the crime of petitioning her government for peace and freedom.
I guess they also don’t want to acknowledge those pesky Sikhs and Black truckers and supporters, either. Inconvenient for the narrative.

It wasn't cunning at all. Being Canadian, reading CanPol social media, I can tell you that he acted rashly, got too far ahead of himself, realized the mistake he made, then tried to act like "it's all good now, no need to worry." The Senate was being bombarded with calls from the PMO to vote for the EA, but 45 Senators were already a 'No' including many Trudeau-appointed ones. They couldn't risk losing the vote, so they threw together a quick press conference later that day and ended the EA. Then there's the whole matter of what happened.

Aside from the Ottawa Police now being in trouble for brutality and lying twice about it (there is an investigation underway into officer conduct), the bank account freezing was utterly unconstitutional, even under the added powers of the EA. The RCMP has thrown the government under the bus by denying they froze bank accounts on illegal obtained info, which points the finger square at Deputy PM Freeland's office for this illegal action (she's in trouble). Civil rights groups and provinces are currently taking the government to court for their abuse of power as well. The LPC is currently divided on how they go forward from here, with many worried their careers are over. The only reason why they backed the vote was because it was tied to a confidence motion. The NDP is in trouble after Singh backed Trudeau against his base's wishes. Chickens, roost, etc

What we have in a petulant child who couldn't handle the protests (he was apparently screaming about how he didn't like them opposing his mandates), so when no one else would act because its a democracy and you don't quash actually peaceful protests, he did. It will cost him his political career and post-politics employment.
