From what I hear, Korra may in some way prevented the cataclysm from killing everyone in the world, but left the world in shambles. This makes some sense, but to be completely honest It all probably had something to do with her opening that spirit portal thing. I don't care what anybody says, Korra did absolutely nothing for her world and only ended up opening a bigger can of worms than any avatar before her.
