Socialism for Beginners—Why Socialism Fails

Socialism for beginners gives you an insight into the true face of socialism, why socialism is so destructive, why it cannot possibly avoid totalitarianism, explaining the economic faults, as well as why human nature is in conflict with the ideology.

Many people fail to understand socialism, the basis of what defines socialism is economic central planning, political centralisation, collective ownership or control of the means of production and state direction of the economy. Of course, socialists will invariably tell you that socialism is anything other than what the real world shows, therefore, they will attempt to define socialism purely around theory.

As I have explained, there are many things which contradict their fallacious claims, especially when they attempt to liken socialism to decentralisation or even personal ownership of possessions. The aim of this video, rather than going into the definition of socialism, which I've touched upon before, it's more so to give you an understanding for why socialism inevitably leads down the road of hell.

Many people claim socialism doesn't work and understand it's a failure, but I don't believe many comprehend the reasoning. In this video on socialism for beginners I explain the issues with their moneyless economy theory, as well as the fault even if they support having a monetary based economy. Regardless of which position they stand, they are doomed from the get-go.

There is another reason socialism is catastrophic, but like I've pointed out in my video, going into explaining the economic calculation problem is something which would expand way beyond this video, you can check out videos I have done in the past on that topic issue that I've playlisted on my channel.

Like I explained, the inflationary problems, to the price ceilings that follow, socialists lead themselves to their own demise and instead of taking responsibility for their own faults, they simply seek to make up excuses for socialism and project the blame off elsewhere. Like I've pointed out elsewhere, many of these socialists place their ideology above anything and everything, therefore, there is no reasoning with them no matter how many facts they are provided with or how reasonable your arguments are.

I do think we are in the perfect time talk about libertarian economics and the failures of government control in the economy. Because of this cost of living problem and soaring gas prices etc because of the war and how governments have tried energy price caps, subsidies etc.

Good video mate, nice to see you back. Theres a new video on youtube i watched yesterday called “Marxism vs Libertarianism: The economic calculation problem” in which the speaker attempts to refute the ecp, specifically around the 24 minute mark. Think you might enjoy that one lmao

Do you have any recommendations on books to read about economics? Is Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell a good start?

I've had socialists say that if we were to meet equilibrium of trade in the market, that everyone would be poor because they would have no money. And I'm like, well no, because the dollar bill is a debt note. A bill, if you will. LOL. The real material wealth is the things you can buy with it.

If we reached equilibrium wherein everyone has coordinated so seamlessly and everyone is so happily busy producing Surplus and distributing it, then everyone would be as wealthy as she possibly could be at the given time.
The more " caught up" everyone is, the fewer notes have to be in circulation at that time.

Hey dude I got your channel on my recommendation. Glad I started clicked. For some reason lately anything related to Eco shows Wolff or other independent social videos.

Scotty have you read Harry brown's book 'how I found freedom in an unfree world'.

I think it would be good content if you spoke about his ideas in his book like how you do with Thomas Sowells book.

It’s hilarious how socialists claim that the Soviet Union & other communist regimes were not socialist, but rather “state capitalist”. What does “state capitalism” even mean?

Incentives problem also tradegy of the commons as people will only be able to produce and work as much as to what there getting thus the famous phrase “we pretend to work and they pretend to feed us” one of the reason for the cause of the famine in China was there wasn’t any incentive to produce or work towards more food as no matter how much they work they got the same amount creating production problems and this lead to low food supply due to overconsumption of the existing food causing the famine as well as other problems such as the infamous four pest campaign causing ecological problems ironic coming from a system that people claim is the only way to save the environment of course this covered up and anything talk about or going against what mao believed was suppressed cause a thing communist hates the most is realizing his ideas failing

Socialists unironically believe that if it weren't for capitalists life would be like the opening of the Curious George film.

Because even in the perfect stateless moneyless classes society they want will have to deal with economic calculation that they can’t deal with efficiently using resources due to lack of market prices due to lack of exchange due to lack of private property this also true for why market socialism fail cause it has no private property instead focus on labor not

An excellent video explaining the dangerous delusions of these socialists. You also sounded pissed off to me and if you were, I can’t blame you!

But have you seen TIK History’s videos? I think he makes excellent content.

Scotty, have you read Democracy The God That Failed? It is the best book in my opinion at breaking down why democracy and other forms of socialism persist and why they are flawed

I left this comment in a different video you made, but there was no response to the comment I had left. I thought to put this comment here as to see if I can get an answer related to this different topic. I put my own opinion on the topic at hand, but I'm interested in what you think on this topic.
The original comment I posted:

I'm interested in what you think related to this video:

This video is about the guy who made leaded fuel for cars, even though he knew that lead wasn't good to add. In the video Veritasium said that the creator of said fuel knew and still kept it in for the sake of profits. I know a lot of people will use this video as a way to argue against Capitalism and, especially as it relates to Standard Oil, this does seem to be in the same timeframe before the "monopoly" breakup of Standard Oil. I'm not 100% certain on the timeframe, but since he said the company Standard Oil, I think it is within this timeframe you have been referencing a whole lot in your arguments.

Since this person knew that the lead wasn't a good idea, this had decreased the IQ level, rise in crime rate and deaths. This seems to be the decision of the private sector, which people knew the 100% the effects of lead and just wasn't a good idea, especially as it relates to burning it.

For me personally, since this is known to affect other people, not only affecting the person who bought the fuel, I think it should of banned for the known effects to the human body. In this case, I think that it shouldn't be up to the free market, instead for letting the government do their job to ensure that other people's actions aren't affecting other people in a negative way. Take in example, you can choose to go to a restaurant that is no-smoking or one that allows smoking. You can choose to be in that environment for smoking, but you aren't able to choose to be in a lead polluted environment as the outside Earth environment is what we all breathe. Additionally, since there are alternatives that are, at the time, known to be safer, I think it would be perfectly okay for the government to ban such a thing.

I'm interested in knowing what you think and this may possibly be a video idea for the future to go more in depth into.
