Octopath Traveler 2 Might Be The Best Turn Based JRPG Released in 2023

Unless Eiyuuden Chronicles is more amazing than I think it will be or Atlas releases Persona 6, Shin Megami Tensei V Director's Cut, or Project Re Fantasy Octopath Traveler 2 will probably be the best turn based JRPG released this year. The free demo is extremely promising and the game has reviewed better than the original. I think the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D remake is going to be great as well since the original game is so good.

I was worried when I saw the day and night cycles but outside of 3 instances it wasnt an issue and of those 3 instances only 1 of them is required for a platinum trophey run. I also love that in this game each character has unique abilities that set them apart so they will always be the best of that job. They range from mediocre to op and there is a glitch on one that completely trivializes the game.

Took me 125 hours, but I 100%ed it few minutes ago. Beating Galdera was a major pain in the ass 😅

I got 60 hours into the original before giving up as it became too repetitive. I'm 15 hours into the sequel and it's so much better

This is a great game, not a masterpiece. One cohesive story would be better. Each character story is great and all but pretty basic surface level stuff. You can skip most dialogue and have an understanding of what the story is and where it goes. That’s the part that lacks for me. Combat is awesome tho! Bendalam smacked me hard
