risc actually supports less datatype formats because of reduced instruction set.
Also, somewhere you said it has less RAM usage then u said more RAM usage.
I agree that execution time of program is reduced due to simpler instruction set.
All in all, you have succesfully confused me. I knew CISC and wanted to learn RISC but I think I have forgotten CISC as well!

Mam how to solve this type of numerical.


A computer has a 64 word RAM
(1 word =16 bits) and a cache memory of
8 blocks (block size = 32 bits). Find the main
memory word 25 in cache if :
(i) Direct mapping is used
(ii) Associative mapping is used
(iii) 2-way set associative (2 blocks per set)
mapping is used.
