Makita HR5212c running but not hammering.

This is a odd one. it's not unusual for any brand of hammer to brake a conrod. but snapping the pin of a steel crank shaft is very unusual.
This crank must have had a manufacturing fault, which resulted in the pin healing and not the conrod.
