What does “family“ mean to you? For better or worse, our families define who we are, but how do we define “family“? For this year’s Pink Dot campaign, we’re inviting all Singaporeans to think about where we come from, and where we could be headed – starting with this video.

When the prime minister announced the repeal of 377a, my immediate emotional reaction was beyond cathartic, as all the emotions that lived in my 53 year old body came pouring out. Elation is an understatement. However, the positive news became less sweet, soured by the reasons for its repeal. Again, I became cynical about a government whose frequent claims that all Singaporeans are created equal. My understanding was that the repeal was happening because the government fears that 377a would be struck down as unconstitutional in the Supreme Court. If this were to happen, it would mean that gay marriage would also quickly become a reality. Thus PAP did what it did to serve its conservative constituents. It wasn't about caring about the equality, justice or the civil rights of the LGBTQ community as it voted without lifting the whip. The party feared that the more conservative segments of the party would not follow suit and the repeal would fail in the parliament. With the change in the constitution, it will most likely take another 10 years before LGBTQ Singaporeans will be able to show their love and be protected through marriage like their straight counterparts.

Japan and Thailand also currently drafting bills on same sex marriage despite all odds of being under military rule and even more conservative society. I have full faith for the younger generations and their future!

Such a nice and moving video. I hope that the same sex rights will be acknowledged soon in Singapore by the government, to protect and look for the happiness of all its citizens. And to follow countries like Nepal, setting a clear and brave example of inclusion regardless other problems Nepal has and that Singapore doesn't. Go Singaporeans! Majulah Singapura!

LGBTQ+ movement in the west is spiraling out of control with LGB getting uncomfortable with TQ+. I hope Singapore Pink Dot will handle it differently. We should promote inclusivity with a sensibility to the multicultural and political context of Singapore. Happy PRIDE month to my LGBTQ+ fellow citizens.

"Put 100 women and 10 men on a deserted island and in 100 years you will have a thriving community of men, women, boys and girls. Put 100 Trans women and 10 men on a deserted island and in 100 years you will find the skeletons of 110 men

Just because one do not agree does not mean one will discriminate, they say love is love - really!!! is water - water, will one take water from the toilet bowl and drink the water from such a place, will one give a straw to a child and tell the child : hey ! water is water, go to the toilet and drink from there!!!! We are all borned sinners, so being born a gay is right in a way cos it also a sin, one is bornd in. In the past boys wants to be superman, spiderman and fly to the moon or outerspace, now the aspirations for boys to put on makeup and wear high heels and go to female Stop forcing us to accept this lifestyle. Yes, we all have rights, but our rights need to come from God. In time the society will pay a heavy price for all this and it is already happening in the West in which one cannot even say the "Lord Prayer' using the the pronoun - 'HE' just to suit a particular group of ppl. Feelings and facts are not the same, I want and I feel like a women or a male does not make one male or female or in-between. Cos how does one expect doctors to treat such a person when biologically one is NOT A FEMALE. Sex is NOT assigned at birth, our parents already knew we are going to be boy or girl when we are 5 months old in the womb, above all GOD is never wrong. It bad enough lying to oneself but putting pressure on the society to lie with you just because one is struggling with one's desire is not right. I know of trangender who are not transgender, they did it to be popular and to spite at their parents and play along and I know some of them suffered anxiety and depression but they are not transgender. I know of guys who were groomed to be gays by other gays and embarked on a road of no return. I once wanted to ask a gay guy who contracted a funny kind of intestineal cancer which effects gays due to their 'activiity' and some who got AIDS, I wanted to ask all these ppl, where are their partners and friends cos I realised these gay guys when they got AIDS or are HIV POSITIVE or when fallen sick through this kind of lifestyle, all these love is love ppl are not around them in the hospital. So much love so where are these ppl. I don't endorse such lifestyle but forcing one to accept is like asking one to lie despite the facts and truth and ppl who truly love you will not lie.
