I am one of the survivors of such ill fated HWH Rajdhani Exp was on duty in the capacity of Dy. Train Supdt. I was the first man who informed the Rafigange station (on duty SM) in person along with one of my colleagues staff named Ujjal Bhattacharjee. I became witnessed everything. I made statements accordingly before the enquiry committee. So far my knowledge goes it was absolute sabotage because got derailed before bridge where manipulation done with Rly track (left side track of up line).

Bhai woh dhawa river hai aur yeh accident ka karaan yeh hai ki uss time naksals ka koi member police custody mein tha jiski rihahi ke liye naxals ne fishplates ko khola tha aur us din petroling v nhi hui thi unka irada rajdhani express ka accident karna nhi tha unhe lga tha ki koi goods train aayegi magar aisa hua nhi aur naxals ne apni galati ke liye maafi v maangi aur joh maalgadi ke baare aapne bola woh lagbhag 30 min pehle guzri thi aur express train down track se gyi thi uss time hamara shaher utna bada nhi tha phir v humlog se joh ho ska utna help kiye sabki Rafiganj station dead body se bhara padha tha. Yha ke liye woh bahut khofnaaf rhna hai hume raat bhar nind nhi aati thi. Iss accident mein na hi engineers ki galti thi aur na hi train ke coaches mein sab kuch Shi tha mera ghr Rafiganj station ke samne hi hai.

Bhai mai ne tarain dekha tha rat me hua tha accident. hamare village ke sare log ke yaha se khane gya tha jo log injured the unke liye. Bhut danger scene tha bhai😣😣. 15 years ago. Fishplate ko nashlite ne hata diye the. Accident ke bad se nadi me rone ki awaz aati hai.

Very good analysis Satya!!! bridges require regular inspection on frequent basis, especially related to trains when 130 km/hr are involved. I would not blame coaches. Because if the bridge support frameworks are worn due to excessive use and weather then even good coaches run the risk of falling. This is my opinion.

Yes Maobadi activist was active after Hazaribagh forest to koderma-Gaya zone.Ihave visited so many times to Tikiapada rail shed where all important train rakes are maintained(Eastern Rail Hwh div). Rajdhani is the top priority and placed in line no1 down the manager s office /room from he can frequently watching the maintenance of Rajdhani ie. No 2 line was fixed for Kalka Mail, No3 for Mumbai Mail 4) for Amritsarmail & so on. 6 men were there for cach compartment of Rajdhani including washing with Surf& brush like this accel wheel vaccum pipe etc. So so many reasons behind this.very difficult to comment.

The fourth reason, i.e. sabotage by Naxalites, appears to be most plausible reason in this case.

I guess this is the same accident where we had heard the story how a newly wed couple exchanged their berth with an old man and how the couple didn't survived! Train accidents in India have been sad ones and the biggest disappointment is that no one seems to be ever punished for these accidents
