Oh my goodness, your baby is 1 – or almost 1. I’m sure you can’t even believe how far you’ve ALL come since the delivery. Here are some milestones to expect between months 8 and 12. Remember all babies develop at their own speed. But if you’re worried, talk to your pediatrician.

• Crawls forward (or backward!)
• Pulls himself up to stand.
• Walks holding onto furniture – and might start taking some steps
• Uses a pincer grasp
• Understands how to use objects correctly (such as holding a phone to his ear)
• Explores objects by shaking, banging, throwing or dropping.
• Points to things when you name it.
• Says a few early words, such as "dada" or "mama."
• Has stranger anxiety
• Tests parents' reactions to certain behaviors.
Congrats on your baby reaching the one-year mark. This is when you’ll want to make sure your baby-proofing is ready. And remember, use your time together to point and name animals, sing songs, dance, and practice pretend play.
