OMG the shop owner's face 🤣🤣. And he accepts to sell them for 200...That probably means their real cost is around 100 at best.

Don't get mad at Tony in the comments, The haggling was very common in Asian countries especially in the Phillipines. Tony was even better than my dad in haggling which was crazy. Usually they will charge the foreigners higher because in most eastern countries the money value is lower, so they expect western people to be wealthier because pounds is a lot higher in value. Thailand is pretty poor as an country so they have many knock offs and cheap things, that doesn't mean its bad. Haggling is common in Asia and Tony's skills were really good. I bought really cheap gloves for about 100 in thai currency the quality was decent and it was more suited for muay thais loose arms, and thai people usually have smaller hands and are usually smaller. And boxing was made in europe were the europeans were much bigger than the thais

@Tony Jeffries I have been using these same gloves as in the video for a few months, because i thought i could save some dollars, but you convinced me that if i'll have the money i will have to buy some better gloves. You helped a lot in my boxing progress.
Thank you Tony, i am really grateful!

I bought a pair of bag gloves that looked very similar to those gloves in downtown LA in the early 2000s. There used to be a couple of shops in the Toy District that sold sports equipment. I used to go down there and buy jump ropes ($5), gloves($10), and even bought a heavy bag for $40.
Good memories. Sadly those shops are long gone. I think I still have those gloves

I have average Joe hands (medium) and I tried some 16 oz gloves (with wraps) and I felt play inside. 14's fit better no play inside but it varies case by case

Yeah naaah, they looked cheap the moment I saw them on the shelf 🤣

A fiver is cheap enough but compared to the potential cost of physio for a tweaked wrist it's a no for me lol.

A friend of mine picked me up a pair of "Twins" gloves from Thailand which were really excellent quality. I still use them to this day.

The gloves that you got from Thailand are muay Thai gloves that has little to no problem in the fist to it can make your fist stronger

What are your thoughts on those bag mitts that people like muhammad ali used to use and some boxers still use. They are very thin padded gloves for heavy bag, and the point is not to hit as hard as you can but to work the correct form and technique.

What glove would typically not have the 'hitting with the fingers' problem?

Nice video, as always!🥊

The gloves would be perfect for the double end bag. They would save you wear and tear on the more expensive gloves. ✝️👍🥊 Coach Mando from the Alamo City.

my first boxing glove was one very similar to this one. Well, in my fifth sparring match I broke the metacarpal bone of my index finger hitting my sparring partner in the forehead. It's not worth saving a few bucks buying cheap stuff thinking it will have the same quality and productivity as reliable stuff. They are definitely expensive for a reason. The risk of having to stay away for some time due to injury and other headaches is not worth it.
