Sometimes, even the most beloved characters in popular culture need a little bit of reworking. Particularly in animation, where designs can grow stale as characters are allowed to remain in ageless stasis for years upon years, a slight tweaking now and then can help to keep designs visually striking and keep older properties fresh.

But then… there are these. These are times when characters, some of them loved by millions of fans, were subjected to nonsensical changes for reasons nobody could fathom. They more often than not resulted in the rebooting, or outright cancellation of the property- all because those making the creative decisions didn’t know when to leave well enough alone.

I personally was OK with Season 2 of American Dragon Jake Long, but TCR advocated for it so we threw it on the list. Jake Long season 1 Looked more like a dragon from medieval times, while Jake Long season 2 was more of the tradition Chinese dragon.

I didn't mind the new art style of American Dragon, but I hated Jake's new dragon form. I get that they were trying to go for a blend of Chinese/European dragon, but it didn't work. I think it could've been possible had they tried harder.
