Ropemaking traveler- the basics

The ropemaking traveler is a common tool used to make rope. Its role is to provide tension and an attachment point on one side of the rope.
Usually a traveler will have a pair of wheels, but can also be made without- resulting in a sled.

This video takes a look at some design concepts and the making process.
Almost every single traveler made is different in various ways, so consider this video more of an inspiration and source for ideas!

Teach us more about making rope and cordage, I'm really wanting to give it a try, I plan on using some DMC embroidery floss, and there's a multitude of colors.

Do you plan on selling hard laid cotton rope ? Belfast cord is difficult to come by. Thanks.
