I usually convert provinces before turning them in TC, less revolt risk.

the extra gov cost never made sense to me honestly. i am giving this province to a trade company and now its harder to administrate?? it should be less gov cost since now the province is administrated by the trade company

Although trade companies don’t have a negative modifier for heretic/heathen religions, I find that it’s still worth it to convert in most cases since those provinces will still have negative unrest modifiers from your tolerance of the true faith.

You can actually convert these provinces, if their religion is non-abrahamic, through a merchant.
