Laundry baskets and cute totes are the best alternative to gift bags. My oldest is turning 5 and I still use the storage tote decorated with vinyl stickers I got from my sister in law at the baby shower.

Those are great items to include! My son is literally playing with that toy right now. Most people just buy toys and small clothes. We received way more clothes than necessary for those first few months and barely any for the bigger sizes. Good job!

I do the same thing! I started doing this years ago because everyone usually covers clothing (newborn up to 3months) I also focus mostly on mom's postpartum things too because mama often doesn't think of herself.

I always buy clothing in 6 month size. Parents don't get it untill baby has outgrown all the cute newborn outfits in no time .

There is one good thing to have, the aspirator. It's good for if the baby has a cold and a clogged up nose.
