COVID-19: Keeping communities safe and the economy moving

There is nothing more important than the health and safety of our mine workers, their families and mining communities. And that remains the NSW mining industry’s top priority as we have all adapted to new ways of living and working during this global pandemic.

While we are able to continue safe operations at mines across NSW, we’re also supporting thousands of jobs in mining, supporting businesses and in mining communities during this challenging time.

Since early 2020, miners all over NSW have implemented new protocols and procedures including increased health monitoring, cleaning and sanitation, physical distancing, travel and shift changes, alternative work arrangements and more.

By taking these actions, we’ve been able to continue safe operations at gold, copper, coal and other mines all over NSW. That’s helping to keep thousands of local people employed and the NSW economy moving.
