"Majority cannot decide the rights of a minority." They wore their emotions on their sleeves, and called history and precedence to action, as they made their case for same-sex marriage in India.

The amount of common but valid points they pointed out is truly satisfying to watch. Hoping for the best.

I don’t know what the decision will be but I feel that our country has come to that point where people are actually discussing these things as mature adults stating facts.

"The majority cannot decide the rights of the minority". Well said! Even the basic right, i.e., the right to love cannot be stripped away from the citizens of India.

Some highly educated people having a great discussion is worth watching. Thanks ❤. It kind of makes me feel that maybe in future, India will become an example of human rights. Let's do this India

U can not marry out of religion. Ankit Saxena got killed for loving a muslm girl.
U can not marry out of caste.
Ayushi yadav got killed for marrying a gujjar.
U can't marry to a same sex
Nobody killed for marrying, but arvey malhotra is indirectly killed by society for being gay, and thousands of other like him living a life of hell.
This law is needed. Enough bloodshed.
Im straight male, but this demeaning a person based on sexuality (which is not in his /her control) is absolutely cowardice and unjust. We have thousands of other pbm where other humans are affected. These people don't harm anybody. Let them have a life with dignity and respect.

Even the Hindu mythology narrates stories of same-sex relationships and also mentions about the existence of transgender deities. The discrimination that the lgbtq community faces today in india is solely an outcome of ignorance. They can't get away with saying same sex marriage can't be legalized because it will hurt religious sentiments. Great to hear so many lawyers voicing their thoughts. Hoping to see inclusiveness prevail one day!

If two people willing to be together not harming anyone around them….. they should be allowed to do that without any difficulties.
As if heterosexual marriages work out..:

I mean, same sex marriage will have its own challenges and a lot of things has to looked upon once we decide to make this rule…. Let’s start the ground step by observing the changes of today’s society

Same sex marriage is acceptable
But changing the definition of male and female is pure stupidity

Incredible India : Where marrying the same gender is wrong, but marrying a tree is completely logical.

i sat through all the hearings (online) and had countless fights over youtube comments and while i want same sex marriage to be legalised so that we can take a step forward inclusivity, right now i just want it to be legalised to piss off the homophobes-

jokes apart, great work done in the court, i wish that the law changes for good. much love<3

Both arguments were well framed and the SC was also responding adequately and efficiently to the sides

What people in the comment section can't understand is the case is not against gay relationship but gay/same sex marriage. Being a gay and having a sexual relationship with another person of same sex is perfectly legal.
