Stabicraft Imitators - Everything You Need to Know.

🔥 After 32 years of design evolution in the marine industry, we now have knock off imitators. We've decided to put together an update on our imitators. Since our last video in September 2019 we've bought one and been through it with a fine tooth comb.

We can confirm our imitators do not have our CAD files. Their hulls are wildly different from anything we have produced. They trade solely on surface level imitation. "What we found wasn't just poor quality, but fundamentally these boats are NOT safe." - Paul Adams, Stabicraft Founder.

Feel free to share this video with your boating friends and fishing groups so people are aware these imitation hulls exist, and the risks they pose on and off the water

Wow 😯 Good to see you've identified this scam Paul and this video is a smart move to educate people. I had heard about these imitations but wouldn't ever be stupid enough to consider buying one. Looking forward to delivery of my new authentic 1850 Fisher in October sometime! All the best 🙂👍

I am sorry but this sounded like an advert for your product. Anybody buying one of these Chinese boats would be a fool to expect the same build quality at the price offered.
Again anybody with the basics of seamanship would understand the limitations of this boat. As with all boats you use them within their capabilities.
Having said that I understand clearly how these cheap copies could impact your business through no fault of your own

Hey Paul,
I'm a pround owner of a 2010, 2050 SuperCab. Great video, letting those imitator "boat makers" have it!
On the bright side you should feel honored that Stabicraft is being imitated (so poorly may I add) it means that your getting noticed in more boat markets!
I think I'm the only Stabicraft owner in Texas (maybe) but boy, does the boat get a lot of attention when I'm out and I do my best to help people understand the benefits and safety that Stabicraft offers.
By the way, when are you going to open a plant in the USA? If you do, open it in Texas! The state has great business programs, we have some of the best welders in the country and build materials could be found locally.
Any way, good seeing ya. Cheers!

STABICRAFTS are amazing boats, these imitators have no pride in what they do and are very far from doing something as good as a STABICRAFT. Excelent explanation to help people understand the risk they are taking by going the cheap way. Cheers!!!

Great video Paul and I agree with everything you’ve said however you have done yourself no favours with the turn in healing comparison part of the video. It shows 4 people across the cabin of the clone boat showing the poor handling. Next scene shows the superior Stabi same turn in but with two front passengers port and starboard, one just further back middle and remaining forth at rear stern. Clearly better disbursement of the weight resulting in safer turn in etc. Yes the Stabi is superior in every way except cost and you’d be a fool to purchase one but I don’t see why such outstanding companies like Stabicraft need to lower themselves when comparing inferior products. I await your response.

Really good video Paul. Thanks for letting people know about this. One of the reasons I bought a Stabicraft (1650 fisher) was for safety & stability on the great lakes. I have been in 1.5 m chop & it handled it without a problem & that is a 16.5 foot boat. I hear that someone in the U.S. might try to start to make knock offs of it now. I hope not. By the way get ahold of me I have a idea to make a great lakes version of a Stabicraft.

Great video mate, they are a real safety concern now let alone in 5 years with fatigue

I respect your review and opinion but a few problems I see. This copy is a direct competitor against your own design and company so clearly opinion is going to be fully biased against it. I would have put the review with a professional experienced boat driver rand then get an opinion off them with out having any involvement.
Secondly and obviously you are unable to mention which brand the copy is as I am looking at some boats that are a copy of your hull. Don’t know who’s is the original designer and I am reading very good personal reviews against the copies, so it makes it hard to accept your review… but will consider it when I make the purchase.

Re do the test and only have one person (the driver) on each boat otherwise the test you did is misleading what scared the hell out of you is how much cheaper they are

Having worked at a H&D marina I have seen the quality of these first hand, and am absolutely amazed that they are allowed in our country which is very heath and safety orientated. There should be some form of WOF issued for all boats. Great video, thanks for taking the time to warn a lot of people that are totally unaware of the build qualities of these copies.

they are certainly imitations and those who buy them know it, they do not expect to have the same quality, especially when it comes to going out to sea once every 6 months....and given the big price difference can be interesting...

Thankyou Paul for this informative video. As a novice looking into my first boat I am greatful that i came across your video. i was looking at maybe buying a boat from the market you speak of. When you factor in the potentional remediation costs against risk factor its a no brainer. Then there is the risk to my myself and family. Something you cant put a price on. Thanks for the wake up call.
