This one-of-a-kind Panasonic PV-A860 VCR is something else. This is very hard to come by, given that it is 40 years old. It still works perfectly and looks great. The unique portable VCR allows you to detach it from the tuner/timer dock and bring it wherever you need. It also has recording speed select which allows you to select the best speed for the length and desired picture quality of your recording. Back in the mid 90's I had that exact setup, my neighbor was cleaning out their garage and throwing a bunch of stuff away so I grabbed it. I probably still have it somewhere in my garage. I even have the brown vinyl carrying bag for it and I believe I have a remote also.

FYI: The white label with the "Ⓐ" on the back means it has the redesigned servo/regulator board which was first installed on units made in 9/27/1984. That probably means it's more reliable than the earlier-production PV-8000s. Nice VCR with linear stereo audio too!

I just found something that’s just like this at goodwill but it’s from JCPenny and it works really well but I cannot for the life of me find any more information on it so I have no idea what it goes for and it’s driving me crazy!!

Great VCR. same batteries as many panasonic/sylvania/GE camcorders from late '80s, that are still available. I use mine on battery with a color video camera. its featured in the vid on my channel called "video borking"
