Content like this needs more praise. No rambling and right to the point with easy chapters. Thank you for the quick explanation and test results.

I think is embarrassing that Microsoft haven't dropped the price of the expansion memory.

Never thought I’d see the day where I would have to pay more money for the hardrive than what I paid for the actual console, That should be criminal in itself

I actually agree with your opinions. Use a SSD or the expansion card if you have the money and a HDD if you want something cheaper or to get more storage for less. Thanks for the video! So much storage options!

I've spent a good portion of my day looking up Xbox series S and series X (because I'm considering an upgrade) and THIS is the most useful video I've seen. I'm an average gamer at best, so ultimate graphics isn't my main deciding factor. This has been a very helpful video in making me decide. Thank you!

I agree with your conclusion on using a Hard Drive as mass storage and transferring when needed! Personally I have a Series S, which only has 512gb internal storage. I ended up getting a 1tb Expansion to store the games that I regularly play, as I play a lot of different Online Games with friends, and the 512gb was just too small to keep them all on. Then I bought an External HDD to store the Series X/S games that aren't on the Internal or Expansion, while also storing my Xbox One and Xbox 360 games to play straight from the drive!

xbox needs a whole 5TB internal storage lmao, with how these games are nowadays, can only download about 4 good games till I'm capped at 1TB, external hard drive ain't worth a shit, can only play xbox games on the internal, whack frfr shit makes me wanna sell my shit and get a PC, then I can't play wit my homies unless its a cross compatible game

I love when I find a YouTube video that perfectly answers a somewhat nuanced question. Thank you.

I use 1tb hard drive and I have no complaints about the speed. It’s still much faster to move my games from one drive to another than it is on Wi-Fi, but if you have a game pass subscription I suggest getting 2tb to test games that may interest you.

I got a sea gate storage expansion card and I’m just gonna say that I’d totally recommend it. The amount of games that you can get with a extra terabyte is awesome

Just wanted to drop in and say I've been in the process of buying a Series X this holiday season and twice now I've had a question about something and you've answered it perfectly with separate videos. Appreciate the work you do, keep it up!

Great video. You just show all solutions of expansion storage, then show all the pros and cons of each one which is totally useful for me. I am saving money to buy a Series S soon and this video helps me so much. Thanks for your effort

The tricky thing about transfering files from drive to drive is that you're going to need open space on both the drive and console to swap games around. I think its worth going all out on getting the offical expansion card if you have a large game collection in addition to an external HDD just to make sure you always have space to send a game in one direction or the other, expecially now that we're getting 150+GB games like Jedi Survivor now.

Thank you for your explanation; I was convinced buying the SSD was the better option but your explanation made me think twice.

First of all thank you for the video very nice and straight to the point. Good work.
Now talking about prices: the microsoft seagate expansion card has a ridiculus price it cost $250usd for 1tb!!! and a new console costs the same $250usd... so shame msft.... I also think that the best reasonable solution is to buy an external SSD usb 1tb drive for around $70usd or external HDD usb for around $50usd. The only downside of the external usb drive as you say on the video is that some games like forza and the good ones, cannot be played from the usb drive and you have to move them to the internal xbox storage, but in my opinion is the best easy solution $70 SSD 1tb usb drive.
Thank you for the time, effort and again good work!
