In 2023, Messi had 40 Goals 26 Assists to haland's 55 Goals and 9 Assists. Was MOTM in 5 games, was Player of the tournament. With 7 Goals and 3 Assists, 2 of those 3 Assists were out of the world Assists. like God level, no other player in this whole universe can provide such Assists. Had a decent Club year, scoring 90+ mins Free-kicks for top5 league. Compared To HAALAND's Treble where he wasn't even POTT for one tournament, had 48 Out of 55 Goals being either Penalties or tapins which is basically team's effort.
The only reason one can say Messi didn't deserve is because they compare Messi with Messi's Standards. If there was a player X who score 40+ Goals, provided 26 Assists, won World Cup being POTT, 5 MOTM AWARDS, 7 Goals and 3 impossible Assists. Scored Last min winning Free-kicks, and had as many dribbles and chances created. No man in the right head would say that haaland deserved more than X but when the "X" is Messi, every body cries.
