As unfair as it was to Lewis, because he was robbed his 8th title, it wasnt Max's fault. He didnt do anything but drive, and drive amazingly he did.

And I always remember the very first race of the season, Bahrain, when Max was given a penalty for overtaking outside the track... When the FIA had a deal with the drivers where you could drive outside the track in that particular spot. Unfair as well, and Lewis was the one getting helped by the system on that day. So Abu Dhabi was just poetic justice. If Max wasn't crashed out of contention in both Britain and Hungary, it wouldn't even go down to the last race, Max was just better.

Silverstone and Hungary. Max was in 34 point lead before Silverstone and Hungary, two races he likely would have won - crashed out or damaged by Mercedes drivers. Let’s say Max finish the races, he would have been in a 48 or more point lead. After that race Max was fed up with passive aggressive Mercedes tactics - he took command and won. Toto is not honest here, he knows that Max was by far the best driver - Max won or came second in every race he finished with a whole car. Lewis and Mercedes at the time was privileged and got away with a crime in two races that almost stole what was earned from a young boy. Lewis was in the race because of crashes in Silverstone and Hungary, and he got lucky in Baku when max had 2 laps to win the GP. Max has been the best from 2021 to 2024. Live with it.

Mercedes won 7 DWC and 8 constructors WC. They had zero competition until Max had a car and that scared them. They knew he as a driver is better, and with the engine advantage almost gone it was a fight. And winning for free for 7 years made them forget about a real competition - Lewis was beaten on skills. Max is the best races the sport has ever seen.

The sad thing is that if a situation like this arises again with the SC, it is still not clear what the leader should do.

Should he go into the pits and get tires so that P2 passes him? The race is no longer released and he loses the race?

Or does he stay outside, P2 goes in and overtakes him with fresh tires.

I don't understand why it isn't said if an SC comes 5 laps before the end that the red flag doesn't automatically come out. No tire change. Flying restart. Finish.

To date, absolutely not clear for future races.

I agree with him because if you looked at the official f1 rules at that time it was actually unfair and Lewis should’ve won. But it was clear that max was gonna be world champion at one point.

Max was simply the best driver that year and had a good lead. If it wasn’t for hungary and silverstone that were Lewis’s fault and he should’ve been penalized but wasn’t and in silverstone it was a dirty move, Lewis is not a dirty driver but the move itself was. The best driver and most deserving won that year

Do remember Lewis took Max out in Silverstone, that's net 25 points, and Bottas took both Max and Sergio out in another race, Max could've won before Abu Dhabi if Mercedes played a bit more fairly

Having a 1 lap shoot out for the world title is pretty cool, regardless of who won.

Sometimes people talk about the football god or whatever sport they are into. In this case it was the Formula 1 god. Max CLEARLY was the better driver that year. He had so much bad luck over the whole season. Lewis basically got the "payback" all in one race.

So 1) Yes the last race was rigged and Lewis should have won that race, but 2) Max clearly deserved the title more.

I am personally very happy with how that ended. It was like a balancing force at the last possible time.

Tons of both teamLH people and Verstappen fans here and nobody mentions how Lewis literally left the door wide open in the lap 58 giving Max perfect opportunity to overtake despite still having a solid amount of leading time lmao
