This is a work-in-progress preview of the world map scene for Pure Onyx's upcoming Mission Mode!

Mission Mode will feature an RPG-style progression system including leveling, gear, and an expandable player skill set. From the world map, you'll be able to view available missions, spawned events and side missions, engage in random encounters, and access Onyx's inventory/equipment/character menu.

So did Malise and the Machine development get cancelled and changed into this new game instead? Will those characters show up in this game?

It'd be nice of the rewards in Malise and The Machine scaled up to however many enemies you fight, I know the max is 3, but in the old demo it was 4-5*, if you include the artillery mech. It would be nice to go back to 4-5.

Also it would be nice if you could run away from a fight, even while a character is in a hold, so you'd be left with one character for while until the other appears 2-3 fights later on the ground.

Would make escapes more dynamic.

Hologram enemies would be cool too, they don't have to look different, just trick the player, but holograms can't hurt people, but for attacks like Malise's revolver special attack, where you can't manually choose only one target, it would be annoying because it would force you to shoot holograms. Unless they do hurt you, then you'd need to take out the source of the enemy producing holograms, something like robots or humans, so they project enemies which only exist to waste ammo and attention from the player.

Also it would be nice if you let two-characters simultaneously get ambushed that the enemies bring you to a different part of the game-map, when you come out of combat, just to punish your progress.

Also there should be a death-debuff, so a character who gets downed should have debuffs for maybe 3 turns, appear different or have weaker stats and-or regen.

I could see most of these being quick software changes.

Might be cool to fight holograms that produce a mirror image of Ven, Neon, and-or Malise with similar abilities.
