What's different about this version is it has an 18 second instrumental in the opening. You can find the song anywhere on YouTube, but i have yet to find a version with this instrumental piece from the movie. While brief, it's just so soothing to listen to. It makes the ending feel wholesome, and complete.

I also just love Mask of the Phantasm. It is easily one of the best Batman movies ever, and it's just a very beautifully made film that gives me emotions too complex to even try and put into words. Once you have seen the movie, you begin to realize how this song relates to the story. It's such a powerful, and emotional piece of music.

A murder mystery with actual deaths, an implied sex scene, and so much complex emotion capped off with such a beautiful yet tragic song...yet people still have the nerve to say that cartoons are only for kids? Mask of the Phantasm was, is and ALWAYS will be THE definitive Batman movie.

I bet nobody was expecting this song at the end credits back when this came out in '93 lol. This just proves that as much of a great crime\mystery action film MOTP is at its core it's a love story and a very tragic yet bittersweet one.
