2019 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk Turbo: Is The Turbo Worth It???

Today I drive and review the all new 2019 Jeep Renegade with the turbocharged engine!

It is amazing how peppy and quick this new 1.3 liter motor is with the turbo, it is way quicker than the HRV, CX3, Trax, etc.

the trailhawk is the most heavily discounted trim, so it makes it worth it compared to the other trims.

Here in Brazil we have an 2.0 liter turbo diesel with 170 horse power in Trailhawk version.

Trailhawk 1.3liter transmission is calibrated for off road and the limited trans is calibrated for more on road.

I got tired of waiting for the 2019 Trailhawk version to be introduced so I bought a left over 2018 model, which I like. I wish I had waited though because I have the same turbo engine in my FIAT 500L and it's a major improvement over the 2.4L Tigershark engine.

2015 1.4 Turbo 5 speed manual. Fast for going in and out of city traffic. Better than the CVT I had on my old Patriot.

The 1.6 diesel is more than enough for everyday driving. Average 49MPG mixed conditions, I have been up the mountain roads of the Italian Alps and it had now problems torque wise. I don't know why people slander these little Jeeps. The Trailhawks can hold their own against Toyota's and Wranglers as proven by many channels on Youtube

I think I am going to tradein my 2015 trailhawk for this one much more ergonomic and modern amenities in the interior and I like the fact that the transmission shifts quite well with the new model which has been my only complaint on my old trailhawk. By the way the renegade trailhawk is a stout offroader. I know because I offroad in my old trailhawk all of the time. If you know how to offroad and understand this vehicles limitations you wont have any problembecause quite honestly it is a little billy goat. Just get some better all terrain tires and you will be fine.

It's a nice little jeep, but honestly it's way overpriced for what it is. You can get a reliable Subaru Forester or a Toyota RAV4 for roughly the same price.
