I just got the first one for $27 well well worth the $. Took about 20 min to slap it together simple. It’s big sturdy and has everything you need all in one. Good for multiple cats I only have one so it’s huge!!👍🏼.

Faux fur cat trees provide no padding between the hard wood and the cat. There is nothing for the cat to claw. Faux fur cat trees are junk.

Real carpet trees should be avoided. They pull on the fibers and eat the plastic threads in the carpet, not just carpet fibers which can be passed at least. Those long clear threads can kill and it took 3 days for my kitten to pull some out. So just bought one from china with velour material glued on. I will see how long it lasts but the rope usually gets destroyed first. Cats want to sleep on the very top. The platforms should be large for a full grown cat and have side rails. I just saw some from china use material like a pillow around the edge and it needs to be a real railing because they fall asleep and then fall right off when they stretch. It isn't funny. The tree I just bought from Amazon does not have a platform that fits a full size cat. Kittens love it but I am returning the other tree because they will out grow it. Based on prior experience they don't spend time in the boxes. They want to see around them from the platforms. Give them an Amazon box to play in and you will see they don't want to spend a lot of time in it. If you have a kitten and purchased a tall tree then lay it on it's side until they are at least a month older so they don't jump from the top and damage a leg. Kittens have no real depth perception. Side note if you have stair railings they try to stand on, then purchase japanese paper screens cheaply to keep them from falling downstairs and damaging a leg. This happened to one of mine. Remember if you have two cats they might even crowd together on the platform to sleep. Imagine an overweight adult cat trying to fit on those platforms. Look for a large circle instead of a small shelf and look carefully at the edges to prevent falls. They don't have to be fully enclosed but at least have something they can put their back against. I think they are building them this way because people have small homes and don't know better about buying them. I have just one elevated circle next to the bed and two kittens stuff themselves in that instead of their kitten beds. Funny fact is that cats can tell the difference between sheep wool cat beds and polyester. They love sheep wool and do not use polyester. It must be the heat because mine are over 20 years old and still in use since I wash with woolite. If you bring home a real wool carpet they will roll on it too. They lie on those circle beds until they stretch and are just half on them. One side always ends up squished down because of this. If you have persian cats cover the round beds with a towel, pillow case, or even a round toilet seat cover so you can wash every few weeks. Vacuuming is annoying and then there are the hairballs. I just load the covers and cat beds in the washer at the same time.
