I had a splinter around a year ago. It just disappeared. I didn't care and went on. One day, 6 months after, it hurt a but and a pimple with calluses formed, and the splinter was in an few pieces. I just ripped the middle of the calluses off and I somehow got some white-yellow stuff out, it wasn't pus I think, and got a few pieces of the splinter out. I let it heal, and it slowly grew back together. A few pieces were still inside. It looked like the dome of the Reichstag in Berlin, you could see everything inside. After that, more like a volcano. Then, after a few months, I took out the rest. It was completely empty. It hurt, and it bled. I disinfected it afterward, of course. Now everything is closed, the callus is still there, but it's healing and everything is collapsing. But the cool thing is it never hurt, except for a few days. The body is pretty cool👍🏼.

Magnesium Sulphate paste (Epsom Salt) will draw out splinters. I once had one an inch long in the back of my leg from a garden chair, it broke off too deep to pull out. I used MS paste, covered with a bandaid overnight - it had drawn out enough to remove with my fingers by the following morning.

Yes… thanks, Doc, for teaching us that deep splinters can be painful😂

“If you get a splinter it can be very painful”. Thank you. I would have never known this had a doctor not told me. Truly informative content👏

I once had five tiny splinters in my finger when I was 14, and they just went away. You could easily see them in my finger, but they couldn’t be taken out cause they were under my skin. No pain, and no swelling ever happened

I work in metal buisness and got metal splinters a lot and the best way for me to remove them is to get sharp object (knive), "dig" it out from one side and take it out

Carpenter here, had a real bad one once. I was doing siding and used a punch to not damage the wood, but my hand slipped, and drove a huge one into it. I immediately pulled it out, but for a few weeks, the area was weird. I eventually had this urge to just dig. So I sat there digging with a knife while watching a movie, and after a while, a thick splinter just shot out. Must have been a lot of pressure as it instantly popped out 3 cm. I could easily pull out the rest. God it was nasty thinking that thing had been in my hand for weeks

Tip if you get a splinter that you can’t really pull out or see put your foot in hot water or put whatever body part in hot water and it will like loosen it so it comes out

Fun fact about ✨me✨ when I was 9 years old (side note, I have severe ADHD so I tend to fidgit with my fingers like ripping hangnails and biting my nails to deep) I ripped out a hangnail on the side of my right hand thumb and it bled LIKE A LOT not profusely but just a big puddle on my thumb and I just wiped it on my shorts and I didn't think anything of it and then 3 days later it got what my doctor that I visited called a "super infection" where it swelled up my ENTIRE thumb and a little bit of my knuckle and I couldn't sleep for 2 days because of the IMMENSE pain and then right on the third day we went to the doctor to see if they could do anything Abt it and they were super busy and as soon as we walked out of the hospital place thing I and I kid u not I forcefully POPPED it open and green and red and brown puss came out for like 3 minutes and my mom literally threw up next to me and then I made sure I at least rinse off my fingers every time I rip open my finger and bleed so I never have to deal with that pain again I hope this story doesn't make u sick 😭😅

If you read that ENTIRE thing TYSM everyone cuts me off halfway bc they don't wanna hear it and yes I know this has nothing to do with the splinter but I heard the word puss and I was like fuq it why not tell my infection story 😅😅

Fun fact - if you have been stabbed and don't do anything, your body will automatically remove or push the object out after 17 hours

Hear me out….
Last time I got a splinter like this, it was on my middle finger, on my left, just where the top of my finger, where it connects to the middle of my middle finger got stuck, it got infected, but my goofy one brain cell brain decided to rip off the skin and then rip out the splinter, took me about ten minutes, and I did, it felt so good to do it, and yes, I also had to squeeze out pus…

It did hurt a lot when I would bend my finger, and it happened because my dumb ass decided it would be good to climb a tree
Thank you for reading, and yes
