India elections: Vote counting underway

After 6 weeks of voting in India’s largest election thus far, vote counting began at 8 AM on 4 June in each of the 543 constituencies around the country. As of 3:00 PM SGT, India’s Prime Minister-led Bharatiya Janata Party and their allies, collectively known as the National Democratic Alliance, is leading in 293 seats out of 543 constituencies in total.
